The Process of Teeth Whitening

The whitening gel breaks down stains through oxidisation. The oxygen molecules from the bleaching gel contacts the discolored molecules latched to the tooth causing them to break away bringing out the whiteness and brightness of the teeth. Boutique whitening offers a variety of protocols, all requiring a minimum wear time of 4 hours. However, for optimal results, it is recommended to wear the trays overnight. Using the trays for 6 hours or more while you sleep usually provides the best whitening outcomes.

Boutique Whitening is a safe and pain-free way to whiten your teeth. Some sensitivity can be experienced, although normally settles after 48 hours.

The whole whitening process usually takes between 3-6 weeks although patients may require additional whitening syringes to achieve their desired result.

Teeth whitening is not a permanent solution, teeth will appear whiter for up to 3 years and you can use top ups every 6 or so months.

Dental materials like fillings, crowns, and veneers are not impacted by the whitening process and will retain their original color. As your teeth become lighter, any dark or unattractive dental work may become more noticeable. In such cases, you may want to discuss follow-up treatment options with your dentist to ensure a consistently bright smile.
